About the Author
JAAN WHITEHEAD had been researching and collecting bells for more than twenty-five years. Originally an economist, she earned her doctorate in political theory from Princeton University and taught for a number of years at Georgetown University. More recently, she has been working in the theater world and is the co-editor of "The Art of Governance: Boards in the Performing Arts" and the author of essays on art and culture. She lives in New York City.
